There is no cost for the Training Academy itself, however, there is a $40 fee to cover the cost of the training manual and materials.

To be a volunteer, you must:

be at least 21 years of age
have reliable transportation, a valid CA drivers license and proof of insurance
have a cell phone and internet access with active email account
attend each training session in its entirety
commit to be on call three, twelve–hour shifts per month
attend a monthly Continuing Education/Team Building meeting the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00PM.
have a fingerprint background check (at no cost to the volunteer). A DMV check will also be performed on each trainee at no cost.

Corona Regional Medical Center so appreciates the TIP Program in Corona and all the volunteers that are trained to care for the families of our trauma patients. Their involvement with the Medical Center allows our clinical staff to focus on the patient while the TIP volunteer focuses on the family. Corona TIP volunteers are advocates to individuals involved in emergency situations. Corona TIP ensures that their personal needs are not overlooked during a time of great emotional distress. The Corona Fire Department recognizes and is grateful for the essential services they provide.

TIP volunteers are a significant benefit to the Corona Police Department and the citizens of the City of Corona. They assist in a number of areas ranging from comforting domestic violence victims to sitting with children whose parents are being investigated regarding a possible crime. They also provide comfort to victims of a crime or witness to a tragedy, such as a fatal car accident. The Corona Police Department has come to rely on TIP volunteers and appreciates the support they provide to our agency.
